Content Management is a process where content or digital information is processed to support the life cycle of data on a website or in cyberspace.  Since we as a people are evolving; data, facts, information and other details need to be updated.  This is the main goal of content management.

For example, newspapers need to put out issues daily since the news changes everyday.  There is a constant need to put out new information, so newspapers hire reporters, writers, editors, artists and other staff needed to put out a new issue daily.  This concept is also the same when it comes to information found on the internet.  Websites need to keep up with the changes that go on outside cyberspace.  This is why content on the web needs to be managed to keep it up to date with the real world.

Businesses like people are also always evolving.  A new product or service gets launched into the market all the time.  Corporations and businessmen need to update their websites so that they can promote or market their merchandise.  They hire people to create content or information so that they can publish it onto their websites and people or consumers can view these.  Content can be archived so that when old information is needed, it can be accessed and retrieved or edited if necessary.
