All about Podcasting

The word podcast is derived from the term “iPod” and “broadcasting” since iPods were the first to read such podcast scripts. Podcast is a series of audio and video files which you can download over the internet to your computer and then allow you to upload to mobile devices such as the mp3 players or your mobile phones. Today, there are many devices that reads podcast scripts that you can enjoy anywhere you want to.

Podcast were first used to distribute music files by radio shows but the system gained many uses among its followers. In education, it came in handy for professors to record their lessons and distribute to their students for study-at-home purposes while in web marketing, podcasting is used for boosting musician’s career by distributing his music to his fans for free.

Basically, podcasts can be used by everybody to let the world hear their voices and it is a good way to rely messages that writing cannot provide. This system brings convenience to listeners and speakers alike. It is then safe to say that podcast has been a good addition to then boring internet making it more interactive and livelier place to be.
